DirecTV Remotes

Has anyone been successful in using a DirecTV RF remote vs IR? I was hoping to be able to control the receiver from outside and in the bedroom using a single remote.

My RF remote works perfectly in the rig even from the back bedroom. My son has the same remote and uses it outside to control the box inside. No issues.

These are the remotes we use.

At the house I use the smaller remote with two remotes working a single Directv box so in the living room one remote and in the bedroom a different remote. The setup is the same in the Motorhome. I use the larger on in the Motorhome not sure which is it vs rf you have to program both remotes to the boxes I also run the one tv off rf cable and the other off hdmi cable. That way one box serves 2 TVs.

I am using the RF remotes for DirecTv on ours.
All the TV's are on the same box through the switcher and each TV has it's own RF remote to control the box.
The remotes seem to have a sweet spot in pointing them to work easier from the rear bedroom or outside.
