Factory appointment for Seneca

Finally got my date for factory repairs. Girl I've been leaving messages with left the company months ago. Has anyone been to Middlebury for repairs? Is there things I should know in advance?

They have water and elec hookups at several locations and a dump station if you arrive early. May need to check for availability.

Nice Hampton Inn across the street. Esenhaus right down the road for a great Amish meal. You can schedule a factory tour while you're there.

My Seneca has been up there for 9 weeks. I would want to be certain of the amount of time it will take to complete the repairs or you will have to get an Indiana drivers license and pay state taxes by the time the work gets done.

What work are you getting done?

Takes nine weeks to fix what they broke when they built it in two or three days. A few more minutes on the assembly line might have saved a lot of time now. At least I hear good things from the people that have had their units repaired there.

May just be sitting up there for a while, depending on how and by who, the work was scheduled. if the dealer sent it up he probably had to grab the first available driver even though the shop was scheduled 3-4 weeks or more out.

If there is any painting involved that is a killer as far as a time line.

Work did require paint so I know that is a couple of days at least. Still a lot of time. Problems were leaks near the wing wall (where cab and house join) on both sides resulting in bulging sides so internal damage, plus on the right side the cab separates from the house - opens up about a finger width. This separation occurs when the front right wheel gets raised off the ground...closes up when all points are on the ground. Rear cap pulling away at the bottom. Plus they did a number of little things like missing trim, missing screws, etc. Originally told a couple of weeks for repairs over one month to allow for scheduling issues.

No it didn't arrive that way. The dealer supposedly went over the roof each year checking for and repairing any sealant issues. One of the things they found was an incorrectly installed A/C which allowed leakage.

This is stuff that no checklist is going to catch.

After it gets in the paint shop.

When I took my PINNACLE up for some stress cracks I was told getting it scheduled for the paint shop was the problem. I knew in advance it would be at least 3 weeks to complete the job. Turned out to be 3 1/2 and I dropped it off on the day of the appointment.
