Girard GSWH-1M Water Heater intermitant

Get hot water most of the time, but this morning a little warm water came out, then just cold. Plenty of propane. It’s done this before, then works fine. Anybody have any ideas?

Call them at 949-259-4024. I have had to call them in the past for assistance and their technicians were extremely helpful.

They are sensitive to water pressure. Have you had any water pressure changes? If you are using your onboard pump, is the strainer clean?

Thanks for the reply. Something else to check. Today I was on shore water, and have checked the pressure.

There is a tiny circuit breaker push button on the control board (upper left of heater housing). Press it to reset if it has tripped.

Girard

1. Since your unit is probably 6 years old, a good spray of electrical contact cleaner on the pivot of the sail switch will clean without a sticky lubricant.
2. As the micro-switch tightens up, a 3/4" x 3/4" square of aluminum duct tape on the sail switch flag will increase the area for the fan to activate the micro-switch.
Batting 100 after doing these 2 things on our 2014 unit.

Thanks for all the input. Learned a bunch of failure points, and will check thru them.

When ours goes cold - and it's obvious because the fan runs but the exhaust is cold - it's always been the reset button.

It's hard to see.
See this small black dot on the white cylinder? Orange wire, blue insulator.

On SOME girards, this is the reset.
Press it and voila!
