My Lithium Bank

I just added a SIXTH lithium battery to my battery bank in my Accolade and wanted to share a pic.

When I converted to lithium, I moved the batteries from the weather-exposed pull out tray to the next compartment back so I could keep the lithiums warm in winter, on the upper shelf. All are 100ah connected in parallel with 2/0 cables I made myself to be as short as possible. Manufacturer confirmed they could be mounted on their sides and up to a max of 7 of them in parallel. All are strapped together and to the steel support beam so they won’t move.

Reason I added a sixth was for a little more capacity when running the rear a/c off batteries/solar for our dogs when boondocking. I swapped in a 3000w inverter last season, rewired the rear a/c to the inverter panel, and put a soft-start on the rear a/c.

It has been working great but we needed a little more capacity for the pups when on a long bike ride. We were getting 3.5 to 4.5 hours of a/c off battery just fine, but I didn’t want to push it when cloudy and limited solar assistance. Have 800w of solar, getting ready to install an extra 200w for 1000w total on the roof.

These EnjoyBot batteries were only about $270 each and have internal low temp shutoff protection. They now make a self-heating version that weren't available when I bought mine. I’ve had the first five for a year now and they’ve been fantastic.

Sounds like a serious setup.

Were looking at new 5vers, and thinking about something along your capacity.

Looks like you mounted your in the same unusable space that I did which works great. I built my own 280ah batteries so they are a little more compact and have four of them for a total of 1120ah. I originally used 4/0 cables but switched to solid copper bus bars. Makes it nice for running the AC for the pup.

It’s actually a lot easier than you would think. I built the 280ah batteries for about $550 each and they are serviceable if a cell ever has an issue which is very rare, they are going on 3 years without an issue.

We went all victron blue power. I’m adding another inverter as well as 2 dc to dc 50 amp chargers. We have a 220 amp alternator so should be good. Have 2000 watts on roof , 700 watts ground and 1650 amp bb.
