Smile New to Jayco

Just bought a used 2015 Jayco Seneca 37 ft. Diesel. My first time with a diesel. I am concerned about my batteries. Even though I hit to battery disconnect switch, there is still a drain on them. I have owned several other travel trailers but not a Class C. I just have to put in a manual disconnect switch right on the battery. Also, I do appreciate the info on the WeatherTec mats for the Freightliner M3 chassis. I will be asking a lot of questions in the future.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State! Congratulations on the Seneca!

I've read there's a few things that are required to keep power to them for safety, such as the LP/CO detector and smoke detector if it's hard wired.

I have to keep a maintainer on my F150s battery if I'm not going to drive it for a while, there's that much parasitic drain. Voltage will drop to 12.2 volts after 3 or 4 days, and the battery's a year old next month.

Do the House and Chassis batteries not charged when plugged in to Shore Power? My 2010 Seneca is plugged in at an RV park and I had to jump start it after not starting it for about a month. It tested 11V at all 4 batteries and jumped right up and then started fine after that. Do I need to trickle charge when plugged in, or just start it every couple days?

They should. The converter charges both house and chassis. Could be a bad isolator since it only charges the chassis as needed.

Welcome to the Seneca family... and a WARM Welcome to the 2015 Seneca family.

You will find that most of the topics / posts / comments in the Super C section are discussing the later models (after 2018-1/2) that are on the S2RV chassis (instead of the M2 Chassis- which is really the platform that the S2RV is built on with some modifications)

However there are a LOT of the M2-Seneca owners on the forum that are very active and with a wealth of knowledge of the Seneca's built in Jayco's golden years. The 2015 model year offered a number of different floor-plans - and each different floorplan has different features and favorites...

Welcome!!!
