New to Super C's

Greetings all,

After a three year or so pause, we have jumped back into the RV mode. Like many, we have been through the initial well used Class C, then a used Class A, followed by three new Class A's--one gas and the last two diesel pushers.

We have now purchased a barely used 2019 Jayco Seneca 37RB. Frankly, I have always been intrigued by that body style and found an offer I couldn't refuse--lol.

So...from you experienced Super C owners, other that the obvious of front engine versus rear and significantly different cab/cockpit are there any tips or tricks to driving them that you can share? The last Class A was a 43' Tiffin Allegro Bus for comparison.

We will be flat towing a 2020 Jeep 4 door with a supplemental braking system--stay and play, I think.

So...any tips or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jpdunc

Not sure where you are located or where you'll be driving but I will say be careful. My Accolade rides so nice that if I am not careful it will put me in Virginia's reckless driving territory (over 80 mph) in a heartbeat. It's not as smooth as a DP with full air ride but it is smoother than a gasser.

Welcome to JOF and the Seneca family.

Since you have had a history of large vehicles under your belt, I would not expect there to be much you have not encountered already. Just watch your speed and watch your rear end when in a tight turn as it does swing out a bit more that a DP with the rear axles closer to the rear. ..

Welcome! Get ready to enjoy quick, in and out, and less expensive routine drivetrain service at many more Freightliner and indie shops. That tilting front hood is much more welcome than the DP rear when it comes to service accessibility.

This is very true... It was an unexpected perk that we found out after purchasing our Seneca. Our previous Class C was a pain in the (pick your favorite swear word) to get service on the chassis. I still had to find a truck shop that would service our 26' Gasser and they always stuck us with an extra fee for being a motorhome.

Now with the M2 (you might find the SRV2 is the same) chassis - I take it over to our local Freightliner (Penske's Premier Truck Group) dealer who has locations all over the west. Tell them I need service and I am out in a few hours. Now they treat the DP's differently - They only take DP Motorhomes on Tuesdays with an appointment. I have had to clarify a couple of times that our MH is on the M2 chassis and not a DP when talking with the Service Writer - as they are telling me that I needed to call and make an appointment - Once they understand it is on the M2 chassis - they take us right in.
