Power Steering Gear Lubrication

Good morning,

I was performing the 1 month/3 month/6 month maintenance on my 2022 Accolade this morning and I came across something I couldn't find. I guess I missed it during the first 3 month maintenance, but where is the Power Steering Gear that requires lube? Appreciate the help.

Thanks.

John

The steering gear is located on the frame rail. The lower steering shaft attaches to it. I really don't know what they want you to do to it, it's a sealed unit.

I knew where the steering gear was just couldn't find a zerk grease fitting. I'm guessing the manual is referring to another model of Freightliner S2 chassis.

I spent a day looking and researching the zerk fittings on my S2RV. My last count was 23

Yeah it’s a crazy amount. Took about an hour to get to them all.

My m2 has a zerk on the forward facing portion of the steering box and pitman arm. May have been a carry over from the m2 instruction.
