Just an update. I followed Mark’s lead and used right stuff in mine and no more leak. Drove about 200 miles since and so far so good.

I’m glad it worked. I’m about to do a 7,000 mile test trip on mine. Lol.

Did mine several weeks ago, let it dry for two days, and did my monthly 100 mile. Just went out and checked...no leak!

Thanks Mark!

Right Stuff is a great sealant, never had anything leak that I used it on. The last use I tried it on is the leveler reservoir tank. It has ways been wet and dripping since new and after cleaning it good several times, I could tell it was coming from the black bushing that the fill plug screws into. I cleaned it off good with brake cleaner and then lacquer thinner and applied Right Stuff on the seam of the bushing to the tank. One month later the tank is completely dry on the outside and no sign of any leak.

You can make the repair without any special equipment. Drain oil into a clean bucket. Remove axle shafts and driveline. Take out two bolts on each side install long bolts. Remove remaining bolts. Use pry bars slide differential away from axle housing. Clean off all old silicone. Put a new bead making sure to go all the way around the bolt holes. Slide differential back into place and reinstall bolts using blue thread sealer on threads. Reinstall axle shafts with new gaskets. Then pump in the old fluid if it was not very old.
