Removing Macarator

Hi Fellow Seneca owners. I just had a bad clog in my macarator. Has anyone considered or removed this due to clogging potential?

I have a 2020 and took mine out. I didn’t like the stinking hose in the wet bay, which always seemed to have liquid in it.

I removed ours, gain because of the smell after a while no matter how much I flushed it, plus I just didn’t like using it. I pretty much did a whole wet bay makeover by first Removing the macerator, separated all the fresh water fill and filter to the right side and added an electric hose reel, added a divider splitting the fresh and waste, moved the black tank flush selector valve up on the panel, changed the faucet to an a outdoor shower hose and head to wash the dog off and put the quick connect for the coil hose and sprayer on the panel face and added nice bright LED lighting in front and behind the panel. I also insulated all the water lines while I was in there.

Thank you. That is what I was thinking also is to remove it. Takes up to much room, blades clog easy and I have never used it. Rustynuts your bay looks great and very functional

It may vary depending on your model but on my RB I cut the ABS drain pipe off after the last wye into the drain but left the Hub of the wye fitting. Then using the Fernco fitting in the link below, the large end slips over the hub and clamps on and then the small end you can start building your new drain system with a piece of 3” or in my case I used a street 90 slipped and clamped into the Fernco. Made a simple, easy transition. I made a bracket that I bolted to the compartment side wall that the drain pipe lays in and then is hose clamped to the bracket making all the drain lines solid.

What's the first step in removing the macerator? I just dumped our tanks for the second time and it seems that you can never get all the crap out of that little stinky macerator hose. I want to get rid of that system and clean up the compartment like you showed, but I'm afraid of disconnecting the wrong pipe in my first move. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've flushed my black tank several times, but there always seems to be something hiding somewhere in this system. Thanks in advance for the help.

The plumbing is a little different on each floorplan but if your tank valves are closed yiu should be safe, you may get a dribble of water. Then you just unbolt it from underneath the compartment , cut the wires and loosen the rubber coupler and it should lift out.

OK, can you all tell me are the original 90 degrees on the macerator threaded or glued,, , wanting to get everything before I attempt to remove this crapper, did you use rubber sleeve and clamps to refit, I have to get new vale ends to re-pipe looks like,

On my 2020 everything was glued. I painstakingly broke the ABS off the fitting I was going to glue back on to. I don’t miss that stink box at all. I glued on a new valve and brought the connection just outside the wet bay. One less entry point for critters.

Our Macerator was connected to the plumbing by a Fernco connector. This Fernco fitting will allow you to cut the plumbing off at any fitting, leaving the hub (the short section the pipe glues into) and allows you to clamp onto the Hub and then insert a new 3" piece of pipe to plumb off of.
