What did that cost ???? Do you have glass coverage on your insurance?

We had 2 small chips repaired on our truck windshield. After 2 years one of them started spreading. I took it back and they replaced the whole windshield.
Good company to deal with. All covered by comprehensive.

Took two guys about an hour. In Florida, Comprehensive coverage covers glass with no deductible. If I paid it would have been $300 to have them come to me. Not sure how much Progressive pays. I really thought it would be much more. And as soon as they pulled the glass out the crack spread across the entire windshield.
Looks like they did a good job and like Norty1 said, lifetime warranty.

I got a big chip on my third trip out - right in the middle of the windshield. Had it filled / repaired but can still see it. I have been wondering how much it would cost to replace.

At least with our Freightliner chassis the windshields are affordable and readily available. Just imagine how difficult, costly, and long lead time some Class A windshields could be!

That is what we are sorta faced with... We go thru a windshield every other year out here... Not because we don't fix the chips, but we have such a high ratio of trucks. We have taken a few good hits on the Seneca, and have been lucky so far... our last big chip was in Florida. We have the high-deductable on our glass... so hoping that we get three years out of a $250 deductible. Depending on the cost, maybe we just don't claim it????

I asked the guys about that. For Class As they buy the windshield from the MH manufacture and it takes four installers. I am thinking it would cost just a bit more than ours. LOL

I was surprised just how inexpensive the replacement was at $300. I was thinking about $1,000. I was even more surprised that insurance covered with no deductible and it does not count as a claim to raise insurance rates. At least thats what they told me.

One great thing about the freight liner chassis. There are a huge number of these out there and readily assessable. Class a windshields are fewer and most likely not in stock.
I need to check on my policy but I believe is is covered as well. Thanks for posting this info Mark.
