Seneca Engine Temp

I'm wondering what is considered normal operating temperature on the Freightliner Seneca? The temp gauges on most of my equipment stays at mid point on the gauge when all is well. My '14 Seneca gauge spends most of its time at 200 or slightly over which is well to the right of mid point. Under a load from a long hill it can creep to 220 or getting close to that next little mark - whatever temp that is. Is this anything to be worried about? I have a long trip through the mountains scheduled and don't want to start out with problems.

My 2014 Seneca will go just above the 200 degree mark and the electric radiator fans kicks on. Quite loud, but quickly drops the temp to 180 or so as standard operating temp. There are many posts about the fan noise. Maybe your fan is not functioning because you will not mistake it when operating.

Oh yes I hear the fan! You are right there is no missing that thing.

I found a place online that said the operating temp of the 6.7 Cummins was increased for emissions reasons a few years ago and the new thermostat does not fully open until 200 degrees. Oh and it is over 100 here today so that probably does not help either. Maybe my temps are normal. Seems strange that the gauge is so far to the right of center though.

Im going to blow the radiator our really good and see if there is any change.
