Seneca Generator Question

New to the RV world and bought a 2018.5 Seneca with mileage. I just got it home and was going over it with a fine tooth comb. I went to check the generator oil, air filter and coolant. I am stumped, how do you check the coolant? I found where I put the coolant, but for the life of me, I can’t see how to see if it needs coolant. Please help.

Also, where can I find the coolant I need, brand or color?

Next to the control panel, you'll see two fill ports (blue cap is coolant, yellow is oil) and the side of a translucent white plastic tank (the coolant recovery tank). The coolant level in that tank should be at the 'COLD' marking on that tank when the generator is cold. To read about your genset, websearch '981-0522 Onan HDKA (spec A-M) Diesel RV Genset Service manual'.

Enjoy, and welcome to our part of the RV community.

Here is a photo of what Crossingover explained. You can just barely see the level about half way up. Click image for larger version
