Seneca overhead console

Does anyone happen to know if the center console panel can be removed and replaced with a storage console? I mean the panel that is near the reading lights above the dash. I've looked on-line, but so far I haven't been able to find one.

Are you talking about the little plastic insert in the headliner? If so installing anything else would be a significant effort. The headliner is covering up a support member which surrounds the plastic insert. You can pull it out but there really is not much space that could gained.

thanks

I haven't pulled the cover off, but I assumed that was where a CB could be installed, so it might have some room for storage there. Guess I'll move on to a different modification project.

The little plastic things pop right out. Once out you will see a wiring channel about ten inches wide and maybe 3 inches high. It runs from one end of the cab to the other. It is at least 18 gauge steel and a very hard steel at that. From what I can tell it is part of the structure that holds up the bunk and strengthens the upper portion of the cab.
