Seneca propane tank change

I have an early 2018 Seneca HJ. It is a very nice coach, however I find the propane tank to be smaller than I would like. I would like to put in a larger one. Has anyone upgraded to a larger propane tank or have suggestions for doing so?

There was some talk I believe on the Seneca Facebook page and I looked into it also. Looking at the existing supports I think it could easily support a larger tank but you would probably not find one that would bolt right up. My thought was to build a new frame that would bolt to the existing supports and also have the mounts that match the new tank to do the swap so you wouldnt have to start chopping up the factory supports. You could also easily add a support directly to the Freightliner frame as there are many open holes avalable. I searched quite a bit for an off the shelf size and came up with the YNS 20.3 gallon tank would fit the easiest with minimal effort. I would only be an 8 gallon gain so decided not to do it at the time.

Dananu posted installation of a 29 gallon tank in a 37ts. You can google jayco seneca propane tank and it should come up.

I have to admit... I was seriously looking at this too a couple of years back - and like Rustynuts, came to the same conclusion.

What we have found... The Furnace in the Seneca will amount to 90% of the propane use as we have gone well over 6-months between fill ups in the spring/summer/fall season - but can use up half a tank boondocking in under two weeks in the Winter.

We opted to carry two 20# portable tanks in a storage bay and have an "Extend-a-stay" that can plumb the 20# tanks into the Seneca in the event we get really close to empty. We usually use the 20# tanks for the CampChef Stove too - so they serve dual purpose and as a backup too.

I think carrying the extra tanks will be the best option cost wise.
