just finished my dump valve install. Looks almost identical to pookieandsparkys pic. Just letting the group know that i drained the main air tank using the needle valve. the air bags were still under pressure. So i cut the line to one and both bags bleed down. So this could be done with one dump valve. I already had mine with two valves built up and bolted on. Also i wired a switch to 12v and put it in the propane tank bay. out of the way and no one can trip it on by accident.

forgot to mention that it is a 3.5 inch drop at the hitch from full to empty on the bags.

So do you cut the air line for the T before or after the ride height control valve?
Thanks

Between the ride height valves and the air springs.

That was fast. Thank you. I just went back to your first post and found that in the third paragraph.
I almost have all the parts gathered up and ready to get it installed.

So are you effectively cutting the blue hose shown and bleeding the airbags by allowing the air to escape at that point? So theoretically, I could install a “T” with a valve and accomplish the same thing manually that you are doing with the solenoid?

I installed a manual three way valve and release the air from airbag and keep the air in my tanks.

I like simple fixes. Could you provide the manufacturer and part no. for those valves. Thanks!

So if I understand, we cut the line between leveler valve and airbag, and extend both sides of the hose to the new ball valve. We do this on both airbags using two valves?

That pretty much is it whither you are using manual or solenoid valves, just make sure you use DOT rated fittings, I prefer brass but there are also DOT rated plastic ones. Just make sure your air tanks are empty and your rear suspension is completely empty before you get under the coach and start messing with the air lines!

Yes.

I ran new line from leveler valve to ball valve and ball valve to airbag. I purchased DOT approved blue air line and fittings. So the valve will switch the airbag between vent and the leveler valve. You will also need a 3/8 adjustable vent fitting. You want her to drop slowly. I went thru the frame using existing holes and rubber grommets.

Checking the valve position is part of my road ready check list.

Instead of cutting the blue line to add the T, I pulled the blue line and put the T on the end. This way if I ever have an issue with the valves I can simply pull the T off and plug the blue line in back as it was stock.

By adding only a T, won’t opening the valve drain the tank as well as the bag? And if so, is that even an issue?

I add the T on the end of the line vs cutting into the middle of the line. This leaves the factory line long enough to reattach if ever needed.

My dump valves are tied into the leveling system so it automatically dumps for 2 mins when I level. I’ve never checked to see how much air is left after the 2 mins of dump and it’s never been an issue.

It does say DOT approved so it should work fine. But do you have a NAPA Truck store anywhere near you? They will sell it in 1-foot increments so you won't have "leftovers" you'll never use!

Thanks Rob. The NAPA parts store locally did not have it. I am surprised that I am having difficulty locating the hose locally.
I don’t mind having leftover if it is the correct hose. I should know by Monday if the system works. Lol.
