Air dump valves

Thanks for all the valuable input. I have received all the parts, I think,
I thought I read that the airline fittings were a use once and replace? How would I get the airline out of the connection?? Sorry I’m just not familiar with these fittings. Thank you in advance

Air line push-to-connect fittings can be reused provided they have not been damaged. To release the tubing from the fitting you depress the collar at the end then pull the tubing out. Carefully inspect the end of the tubing, if damaged at all trim the end square ensuring there are no defects where it will be reinserted into the fitting.

Either they have no clue it really isn't that difficult, or they just want to take advantage of you!

Steer clear!

Sounds like they don’t want to deal with it…..that’s rediculous.

or maybe the Dealer was estimating the install of the Factory dump option? New leveling valves, new airlines from the parking brake air system?

Dump valves

I installed my own using Roberts instructions. It is very simple and straight forward. Probably 3 hours maximum and most of that was installing the electrical switch.

I didn’t get a written quote when I picked up my rig. But they told me it was a whole new equalizer system that has a dump valve feature, that was around 2300. Approx 400 in misc parts and the rest was labor to install. Along with some research fee of $230 for researching how to install it all. I said I can can send you the link where others have done it and explained what was on here. He said that it wasn’t possible and would fail. Haha. And this was the lead shop foreman I was speaking with.

4+ years on my dump system, tied into my Bigfoot leveling system to allow for automatic operation. ZERO issues!

I am disappointed to hear a shop say something like that. If you decide to attack it yourself many of us would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Well the laugh is on him. We all know it's doable. I've been enjoying the motorhome experience for a few years. Super C for only a couple. I have found most service writers willing to listen to my needs. I have photocopied some of the articles presented by the knowledgeable RV owners on here or elsewhere and presented that to the techs at freightliner or Allison. Once you work your way through the clutter of information things go pretty well. I have learned that if you don't present yourself as a rich dufuss but rather a motorhead like most of them the ice gets broken a little easier.

I’ve often said, “Let me ask you a couple questions, mechanic to mechanic.” Or give them my business card, which shows ASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician & Master Emergency Vehicle Technician.Generally the BS stops and I can get straight answers.

I am coming into this thread late so I hope I am not repeating anything here. I installed air operated suspension dump valves on my 2022 Seneca that do not drain the tanks when activated. Used two Haldex 90554615 pilot valves and mounted them in the same place Rusty did (thanks for the pics) attached those to the air suspension supply hoses between the leveling valves and the air bags. Then installed a Haldex 90054088 manually operated air switch on the dash. 1/4" Air supply for the switch comes from the secondary tank. Spent about $375 in parts and installed in a day.
