Seneca Separate Deadbolt

Now that Ive resolved the Bauer Door Lock, I'm also considering a second residential style deadbolt for added security when leaving camper unattended.

I've seen several "RV Door Deadbolts", but was wondering again if anyone has added one, and what model worked etc.

Thinking of a Kwikset that can have the same as my house key.

Thanks...

I have considered one too but with the extruded frame around the door and on the jamb side it certainly will be more involved than a residential installation. Plus not a lot of leftover real estate not blocked by the screen door to operate the interior knob.
Will be very interested to hear/see how it goes if you tackle it! And it has a classy look that would complement the Seneca's exterior.

Suggest contacting PTL Engineering as they are a major supplier of door hardware for the motorhome industry.

After travelling thru some sketchy parts of the country, We looked at this idea about a year ago...

On our Seneca, we are just as vulnerable (if not more so) for someone to enter our rig thru the drivers / passenger doors as we are the main entry door. If someone is wanting inside of our rig, they are going to have to get past our three dogs first (80/75/70lbs) and they leave you plenty of advance warning before you even get close to the Seneca.

For the rest of the time, when we and the dogs are away - we opted for something that covers the general interior for all of the doors.

We went with one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Perso...207/100685862?
