Seneca Shifter Cable Isolation Kit

I recently bought a 2014 FS and I discovered it has the somewhat common chirping noise in 6th gear at highway speeds. The noise is coming from the shifter cable (thank you Robert Ross!). I have found the isolation kit. My question, has anyone installed the kit themselves? The instructions seems pretty simple. But I am not familiar enough with the rig yet to know how accessible the tranny end of the cable is, and my rig is in storage and not very convenient to get to for the next few days. Can anyone tell me about the cable end accessibility? Is it accessible from under the rig? I’m assuming it would be a reach too far coming from the open engine compartment. Thanks!

On my 2014 the dealer installed mine under warranty so I don't have firsthand experience. But from being underneath it (many times) doing my "projects", there appears to be room near the transmission.

Also, under the cab carpet there is a removeable center floor panel designed to accommodate the variety of transmission options available with the M2 chassis. So you could likely work from both above and below if necessary.

Good luck!

Robert, thanks for the reply and insight. You’re great! I will pull my rig out of storage this weekend and take a look. If I have enough room to work without too much interference I think I’ll give self-install a go.
