Seneca Slide-out Picture Frame Sealant?

So we all know that the caulking around the "border" of the picture frame surrounding our slides is critical to preventing leaks since apparently the water goes inside the border then runs in from the bottom of the slide. I checked my caulking carefully on delivery and all wat well, but now I see some areas which should probably be redone to ensure there are no leaks. Additionally, the trim piece that covers the connection between the side walls and floor needs some additional caulking. From reading I understand the cleanest way to do this is with blue painters tape on either side of the joint to create nice lines.

What I really want to know is what is the best sealant material for this job (you would want a clear sealant)?

Has anyone encountered issues taking their "corner pieces" off, such as paint cracks (since those screws had been painted over)?

Final note: I had noted some areas where the dicor had gaps as it runs along the top of the flange that the slide topper fabric connects to. As I has a sidewall leak on my last TT from that area I wanted to make sure that I resealed that area. Unfortunately it's painted black and I did not want to put white dicor over the black. They now make black dicor (505LSB)!! While I know it may fade, it's better than a long white line over black.

I used 100% silicone 20 year caulking. Cheaper than Dicor and at all hardwares!

sealant

You might consider that nothing will ever stick to the silicone after it's use. A re-application, if needed, will not adhere. A laborious job with a razor blade with risk of paint damage. Dicor and the Geocel Pro-Flex stick to anything (except silicone) and to each other when re-applied as I understand. A motion crack may open and require repair. Plus silicone is not paintable.

I just ordered a couple of 10 oz. tubes of Proflex GC28100 from RVupgrades.com. You can find more information here https://www.geocelusa.com/product/pr...xible-sealant/
