I doubt that will help, perhaps short term although I suspect that the front side will become too tight.
PowerGear (now Lippert) made different types of slide out mechanisms so it would be of value to know what is installed in your RV. I haven't had any issues with mine but saved many of the documents. The one in the link may be the most relevant for your slide and it is possible that I may have other PowerGear documents that could help as someone no longer here sent me quite a few years back. If the doc in the link isn't for yours let me know and I will see what I have that may work for you.
In this document, and if you have the type of slide I believe I have (not sure as I never looked at mine carefully), then there is one motor, one shaft, and that one shaft can be unbolted and rotated into one of several offset holes in order to align both sides of the slide. Also, I believe there are "stops" (bolts the slide stops against) than can be adjusted as well which prevents the slide from retracting too much (perhaps extended too far as well). ~CA
