Super slide-out on 08 Seneca

I recently noticed that the rear edge of my super slide-out is not as tight up against the side of my Seneca as the front edge. The front edge is very tight. When closed, there is about a 1/4 inch gap plus the non-compressed seals between the slide and the side of the RV. My Seneca has the Power Gear slide system. My question is, what if I accessed the drive gear, unlocked the motor and used a wrench to snug up the slide and then re-locked the motor?

I'm not sure how long it has been like this but I would like to correct it.

I doubt that will help, perhaps short term although I suspect that the front side will become too tight.

PowerGear (now Lippert) made different types of slide out mechanisms so it would be of value to know what is installed in your RV. I haven't had any issues with mine but saved many of the documents. The one in the link may be the most relevant for your slide and it is possible that I may have other PowerGear documents that could help as someone no longer here sent me quite a few years back. If the doc in the link isn't for yours let me know and I will see what I have that may work for you.

In this document, and if you have the type of slide I believe I have (not sure as I never looked at mine carefully), then there is one motor, one shaft, and that one shaft can be unbolted and rotated into one of several offset holes in order to align both sides of the slide. Also, I believe there are "stops" (bolts the slide stops against) than can be adjusted as well which prevents the slide from retracting too much (perhaps extended too far as well). ~CA

My super slide-out has two motors and two racks, one motor per rack. There is a brake lock on the right end of the motor.

Because there are two separate motors and gear racks, I was thinking that I could just release the brake on the one end, tighten the slide in and then re-engage the brake.

That may work, didn't realize they used two on that full wall system.

I would read the section on "Resynchronizing the Slide-Out Motors" on page 24 of the linked pdf above. On a two motor system there is a computerized contoller listed as a "Dual Motor Synchronous Velocity Slide Controller". (I would also check for slide stops as well) ~CA

I tried the resynching the motors. They both seem to start and stop at the same time. After three synch attempts, there is no difference in the gap. I will try again tomorrow. I didn't see any slide-stops. Oh, and the slide-out locks at the top of the slide on both ends are not engaging. The bedroom slide has the same type of locks and they are engaging. I will post a picture of the locks later this evening or tomorrow.

I greatly appreciate y'alls input and suggestions.

Here is a photo of one of my slidelocks. Are these standard equipment on 1st Generatio Senecas? The two on the bedroom slide are locking but the two on the Superslide do not.
