Trade In Value/Sale Value for 2018 Seneca 37TS

I have a 2018 Seneca 37TS I want to sell or trade. Where can I find the trade-in values or selling price. I have gone to NADA and all they have is pricing if I was buying new. My goal is to determine what the difference will be between consigning it with a dealer or trying to sell it myself. Any tips on selling or trading would be greatly appreciated.

This is what I found but I wouldn’t rely on it. These prices seem high. I bought mine new for not more than the low retail. I believe you will take a significant financial hit if you sell now. Good luck.

Thanks for getting back to me, Mark. We have already come to the conclusion that we are going to take a hit, but due to some unavoidable long term health issues we will not be able to use it as we planned.

I agree those prices seem high. I think those prices are for new and even though we only have 5K miles on it it is not considered new.

Thanks again,

Bob

Look on RV trader and see what a used one is selling for. It will sell for the low side of the average asking price for similar units but probably not until spring.

In the midwest, your ideal prices at dealers are somewhere between 30-40% off of MSRP.

NADA is based on MSRP depreciation values. Take the difference in the MSRP and the NADA average retail and subtract that from about 30% off MSRP and that will be about what dealers will offer on trade. In your case, that is probably somewhere in the 90-105 range.

Selling price will be all over the place. People on the west coast sometimes pay MSRP for coaches (no idea why).

Look up RV Direct or MHSRV in texas. They will tell you what the coaches are easy sells for. Use that as a guide.

Your biggest "battle" for an outright sale is "loan" value. Banks look at the Black Book value not the values you find on line.

That number is way low. I just sold a 2015 for significantly more. I would think around $150k

Just sent you a private email to the address you gave. For some reason I never got your private message.

You can go to RV Direct right now and get a TS for 162k. There is no reason to pay any more than 35% off MSRP and fight for 40%. I realize something is worth whatever a person will pay, but if you sell a used 2015 coach for more than I can buy a new one........

I got right around 40% off my Greyhawk when I bought local. 34% off if you consider out the door pricing.

This is the problem with the RV industry. Most customers don't know the difference and dealers are taking every advantage.

Ah, the beauty of capitalism and a free-market economy! The "best", "true" or "fair" price is always what a buyer and seller both agree too!

FYI, I bought our 2018.5 FS in Californian last year and paid $163K, which as I recall was about 35% off MSRP. I could have picked up an identical unit in the Midwest for about $2K less, but then the transport cost to CA would have been that or more.

Certainly some buyers are looking for specific units with specific features and may be willing to pay more. I targeted the S2RV chassis specifically because I need to pull an 8K pound trailer through the mountains and passes of CA. Thus, the increased GCWR was appealing to me.

The Seneca does a great job pulling that much weight even up the grades out here.

Good luck with your sale, Rafstar!

There is a facebook page called rv pricing and values. We used it when we were buying last year. David Lester will give you the actual cost and highest price to pay for $30. He does it for dealerships at expos. https://www.facebook.com/groups/RvPricing/?ref=share
Make sure you read the rules when you first go on page. We used it for 5 different rvs we were interested in buying. Have us the warm fuzzy to know aren't taken advantage of. So he also does it for people selling.
Good luck with everything.
