Transfer Switch with two Honda 2200 watt generators

I have a 22 37M and when trying to run two Honda 2200's in parallel (4400 Watts and 20 amps) the transfer switch will not switch over therefore I am not able to use them. Is there anyone out here that uses a combination similar to this that is having luck? If so did you have to do something different to make it work? I have called Progressive and they did not have an answer for me at this time.

The on board generator works just fine as does the shore line so either the generators do not produce enough voltage to switch the transfer switch or I possibly have a faulty switch. The generators work just fine on a Coachman Class C so the Honda's are working just fine. The reason I like to run the Honda's vs the Onan is zero noise when sleeping and much more economical.

Thank you

If you are connecting your Hondas to the shore feed line, the transfer switch is actually in its relaxed state. It is suppose to switch over to the generator feed line when it senses voltage coming from the generator.

I have a Ryobi inverter generator which I plug the shore feed into. I will use the small generator to power the TV and other small things. If I need to fire up the microwave or AC I simply turn on the 4k built-in generator and the transfer switch will auto switch to the big generator. I leave the small generator running. When the high power requirement is done I just turn off the big generator and the transfer switch will revert back to the shore feed allowing the small generator to take over. There is a momentary drop of power while switching over but that is not a problem.

I have attached some documentation for transfer switches. Not sure if it would help.

Have you tried connecting a single Honda to the shore line?

Yes the bonding plug and I am sorry I did not mention that. I am also going to pick up a new bonding plug today and check to see if I by chance have a bad one.

Also thank you for the documents in that I will be able to figure it out from these if the new bonding plug does not do the trick.

Strange for me as well. I have purchased a new bonding plug and hoping that the one that I have is bad and all will be well. I will let you know as soon as I can get it tested this evening.

Thank you for everyone's ideas and help.

Keep us posted. I just purchased a 2022 37K and I tried to plug my shoreline into a 3500watt Inverter Generator to have some electrical outlets to work. I was using a 50 to 30 amp adapter that worked on my older Super C. Would not engage the transfer switch.
Still searching.

Just curious why you are not using the diesel generator? They need to be regularly run.

New bonding plug worked and so all is good and the old one is in the trash. The reason I like the Hondas is they are much more economical and I enjoy the fumes 30 feet away vs under the awning if there is a breeze blowing that direction and they are also extremely quit in the middle of the night. I use the diesel generator whenever it is a quick stop but for overnight boondocking when the AC is needed I much prefer the Hondas. Yes they take a minute at the most to set up but for all night they are great in my opinion.

I'd think not. Why would they like it? Camping next to someone running a generator all through the night is a huge PIA. 0 noise from any generator is laughable. Running from 5 in the morning til midnight, I have no problem with, but others may.

When I am out dry camping by myself I could care less what others think and not only that the two Honda's are much quieter than the onboard Onan. I can move the Honda's away from whomever is with me and they cant hear a thing and neither can I.

Camping by yourself I suppose that's true. LOL . 0 noise is unobtainable.
