Truck wash for Seneca thought?

Hi all, was curious if it’s safe to go through a truck wash in our Seneca? Thoughts?

Yes and No.

They WILL spray high pressure water/soap into your refrigerator, Furnace, Microwave and Water Heater vents! Even when you ask them to avoid them.

Even when we have sealed off all of the vents on our Seneca to protect the sensitive electronic control boards, they have even blown off the covers we put in place with high pressure sprayers.

Or worse yet, they will use the same 36" brushes they use on over-road tractors and trailers and will scratch the paint. I know first hand because I got lazy once.

I don’t have a Seneca, but I try to avoid those truck washes for my Class C. They’re expensive, they don’t do the best job, and typically have long lines to get into the bay. I have a great mobile detailer that I have come to my house after each trip to wash the road grime off and once a year he waxes/seals for me.

It’s convenient because I park the motorhome in its spot when I get home, text the detailer, and when he gets time during the week he shoots over and washes it. I don’t even need to be home for it to get done.

We are on the Florida coast on the maiden trip in the Seneca. It’s getting that Salty sea coast film on it. I won’t even chance the truck washes. Some really goods points here. I’ll wait till we get back home.

While we wintered in Florida... We would check with the office at the RV park to see if they had any issues with washing the RV in the park. Some prohibit washing your rig, other parks don't. One park even recommended a guy that came once/twice a week and did 3-4 rigs a day. One guy in New Orleans even washed the roof too.

Used one once and never again. Taken to washing front at every stop and having rig washed and waxed twice a year by Mobil wash techs.

Enjoy the journey
