Window Shades

Looking to see who makes the pull down window shades in my 2021 37K Jayco Seneca. I would like to see about getting a matching shade and vallance for above the entry door.

Take a look at Recpro. I just bought a new blind from them through Amazon.

As to the valence mine appears to be made by Jayco.

They are made by MCD shades. They do make a model to cover your door.

Agreed overpriced but Amazon seems to be most reasonable place.

These first came out on the 2017 Senecas. We had our 2016 back in to the dealer for warranty work and looking at the new units, saw the shade and valance over the door. We ordered and had the dealer install.. Valance and shade matched the rest of our unit. A great addition to the cabin.

Window shades

You may want to consider adding the valence as well. I ordered another bathroom valence for about $140 and mounted it above the entry door. It definitely needed it. Very cheap of Jayco not to dress up the entry door.

I believe the factory parts gal told me that MDR or something like that makes the shade assembly. To add the shade assembly from the bathroom, even though it would not be long enough, would've cost $250+ . They won't sell just one of the shades, the two come as an assembly and MCR or MDR wants a fortune for them. Our shade over the booth has a very loose spring, and the factory says there is no way to re-tighten the spring.

Our unit fell off the wall while motoring through a rough spot on I-65, so I had the opportunity to inspect the shades and attempt to tighten the loose, sloppy shade.

Our large valence over the booth was attached to the wall with two (2) little screws! Very poor workmanship. Fortunately, you can still get the bathroom valence should you want to mount it above the entry door.

Pull Up Screen Door Shade

MCD makes a screen door pull up shade. I’m waiting to hear from them on one that will fit my screen door.

poor design of friction shade on entry door, behind the screen door.

Not sure if this is common in the previous models, but we just picked up a 2021 37K and the down/up shade on the entry door is attached to the outside door (interior), BEHIND, the screen. impossible to close if you are short (sorry dear) and or accidentally touch the magnetic switch of the screen, which then pulls in the stairs, and can dump you in the grass, if not on lock out.

Curious of intelligent and creative fixes or alterations for that guy!

Thx,

Tim

Mine recently fell on one side over the dinette along with one screw. Do I need to remove the valence to reattach the shade? There is very little hand room to maneuver. And if I have to remove the valence, where do I start? I only see 2 screws at the bottom of each valence installed at a right angle.

There should be screws at the top of the valance as well. I took mine off with the shade still attached.

I did it!!

With inexperienced trepidation, I was able to release the shade from the 2 fixed clips, used a toothpick and some E6000 glue and put the screw back on with the clip, waited for it to set them reattached the shade into the clips starting at the center clip, left, then trafficked right clip and viola… the shade is back up and working!! Thank you to you for the courage and the answers.

X2, I need a spring for a small MCD shade, it won't stay down. They wanted $35 for it. My 2 year old 5er has 10 or so of these, it may get expensive to keep them working. I will be looking for alternatives.
