2022 Entegra 24B Shower Leaks

Our Odyssey 24B shower leaks. It is not 100% calked where the wall board meets the shower pan. Is the lack of calk by design or an oversight in the build?

It's usually a design/build to let the moisture out from behind the enclosure. Most leaks are from where the door enclosure meets the pan, or the wall.

The pan/wall connection is not caulked. There is a lip on the pan that extends up behind the wall. If you have caulk, it may be someone tried to fix a problem that actually exists elsewhere.

Thanks guys, no caulk. The wallboard is loose. I guess that I am still looking for the source of the leak.

Where is the leak showing up? A common place is the ptrap drain. They can vibrate loose and even crack.

Thank you Parrot! It comes out on the floor, sometimes from under the rear closet. I am starting to think drain as well. There is an access panel under the shower that I will use to investigate. I may need to make better access behind the closet.

It is interesting how certain bits of information can lead one down one path and close off other paths. I get very little leakage when I shower, my wife gets lots. I have a pop up camper where the shower walls are only chest high so I am very careful with where I aim the shower head. I was sure this was an aiming issue. I also take a 2 gallon shower, my wife probably uses 3x that. This fact tends to support an above floor drain issue.

I finally dug I to this issue and the p-trap had separated from the shower drain. They fabbed a funky hard connection that puts downward pressure on this interface and the collar actually separated from the locking ring. I tried to redesign but it is just too tight. I propped up the p-trap and reconnected. Hope it stays put...
