Something to check before your warranty runs out. During research for external cargo carrying equipment, I reviewed the install video for an Owl Vans B2 Bike Carrier. In the video, John of Owl Vans was giving a tutorial on how to install the B2 and mentioned they found several rear door structures not glued to the skin. If you watch the video, he will show where the structure is not glued. The video I watched has been replaced with a newer one, but the old one mentioned they found it mostly on doors without windows. I looked for the "wonky door" on the the Terrain I was buying anyway and it seemed structurally sound. I purchased a B2 Bike Carrier and was pulling the plastic covers off the door to prep for install and guess what I found? Yes, my doors were not glued. So, bottom line, it can be any door (window or no window) and checking for skin separation (wonky door) externally is not a good indicator on an insulated door. Luckily, the shop that was installing my winch/bumper had seen this problem before, had the tools/sealant on hand, glued them up for me, replaced the crappy insulation Jayco put in the doors, and installed my B2 while doing the winch/bumper install. BTW, when I called Mercedes to inquire, they had no idea what I was talking about. The warranty specialist said he would do some research and get back with me. He called a few weeks later and confirmed the problem, they had another van show up with unglued doors, and would call me to set up a fix date after they did this one. Here is the Owl Vans B2 Carrier Install video, door structure issues starts at 1:20.
