Swift 20T Pioneer Audio System and Blind Spot Detection

Anyone else had issues with the Pioneer Audio system and Blind Spot Detection on the Ram Promaster van? The menu item to enable or disable the blind spot detection on the Pioneer system magically disappeared. Blind spot detection is disabled with no way to enable. The Pioneer system is installed by Jayco so Dodge will not fix or replace it.

Thanks Kelly, I’ve had my van for almost 3 years and the sequence in that video always worked. But recently the “Safety and Driving Assistance” menu item disappeared so there’s no way to navigate to “Blind Spot Alert”. No help from Dodge or Jayco since the Pioneer system is a Jayco installation and Jayco says blind spot is Dodge problem.

Pioneer Radio

Did you try resetting the whole radio? I have had to do that twice since I have owned mine . We have travelled in it quite a bit so I have had to trouble shoot a couple things.
To reset I use a needle or something else that is small and gently push it into a small hole on the upper right of the radio . I found this fix on YouTube.

More Option

A couple other things I might recommend (if you haven't already tried). Look for the OBD2 plug under the dash and make sure the Maestro harness is plugged in. The Mastero is actually what control the bulk of the radio connection to the van.

There was a TSM for this on older Jayco Swifts (see the attachment). This was for a firmware update on the Maestro.

One last thing, you can reset the Maestro within the radio.

about 30sec into the video it show had reset within the radio.

Sorry to hear that. I'll say this, even with an option to re enable it on mine, it disable itself all the time. There is a Promaster forum (general van owner not RV's) that have talk about this issue even with the factory radio. But it usually is an aftermarket radio people have that the blind spot stop working.

Mine will be fine and then I'll not drive it for a couple of weeks, press the brake while driving and then I see the warning about it being disabled.

I would just double check you're not part of that older TSB that Jayco updated the firmware for the Maestro. Other than that, it might a good idea also to take the van to a near by car audio store cause it might be the Pioneer or the Maestro unit itself that isn't working.
