One more thing, on my wire run, the new service run, supplies power to a new subpanel, that feeds the 20/30/50 panel.

Also important, is to have the right "bends" in the wire, so when it expands the wire has some where to go. And not put pressure on the connections. Also important is to use the correct dielectric grease for aluminum wire.

I agree with the 50A. You can go down but not up if you install the 30A.
