12 Volt outlet

How hard is to put a 12v outlet in? I want to plug my satellite radio into it. there must be 12v power near the radio system somewhere.

You should have a 12 volt outlet capable of 8 amps behind your main TV. It doubles as the power for the antenna amp. Is that near your radio?

To learn more about this mod (regardless of trailer brand / model), surf:

http://www.modmyrv.com/2008/06/06/rv...rComments=true

For me, I would purchase the 12V outlet at "the Source, Circuit City" or some other auto / electronic store. re: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...vkSf6UDajl1cEw I would then install "+" (aka: RED) 12V - 10 guage wire to the trailer's battery. And, ensure a 30A auto reset breaker is installed 8-12" from the battery's "+" post. And, I would install the "-" (aka: black) 12V 10 guage wire to trailer's chassis ground. Would use thick 10 guage wire to battery and chassis ground due to longer wire distance.

Hope this helps....

I figured it would be easy, just have to source out the wires.

The 12 Volt outlet that comes in the camper is a standard 12 volt cigarette type plug. It is only rated at 8 amps, and even then it is hard to get that much out of it without a significant voltage drop. It is part of the antenna amp circuit and generally put there to power a small TV.
