15,000 air conditioner

I have a 27DRLS on order. I ordered the 15,000. Does anyone else have one? Any likes or dislikes?

Thanks.

Had one for 7 years on the 28BHS. No problems and it cooled the trailer well.

Crabman, when the unit is on did the fan run continuously? Or did it cycle off and on like most? Was there a thermostat on the wall?

Have one on our 2016, no problems in the 2 camping seasons we have had it. On REALLY hot humid days (Camping in Florida in July comes to mind) I am really glad we had it. I went with the single 15K with prep for a second unit, but did not install the second unit. The 15K did keep the trailer fairly cool, although it did struggle a bit. I think we would have been flat overmatched with only a 13K on our 29 foot (interior measure) trailer. Other than extreme circumstances, it has been really good.

I do think I am going to eventually change the thermostat out, although I dont think thats related specifically to the 13K vs 15K AC, the manual thermostat is just not really very adjustable on ours, the smallest move really makes a huge difference. I think the digital would be better.

Wall thermostat with settings for constant fan or fan to cycle on and off.

I have the 15k in my 2016 38FDDS. It cools it well on hot Cape Cod days and the box of my trailer is over 37 feet long. The $150 upgrade was well worth it.

I also upgraded the Coleman Mach analog thermostat to the Coleman Mach digital thermostat. This was one of the best upgrades I've done so far. As Crabman mentioned, you can set the fan to constant or cycle.

We have the 15k on ours and it will freeze you out. So far, it has worked very well.

We ordered our 21QB with the 15K air conditioning unit, I thought it was an inexpensive upgrade. More importantly, was the notion of "why would they even offer a larger a/c unit for such a modest sized TT?" We rarely camp in areas where there are few trees for shade, but it we do, I think having the larger a/c unit will come in handy.

The 15000 in the master cycled on and off until we figured out you can close the vent towards the thermostat.Keeps it like a meat cooler in there!

Thank you all! I am glad I have ordered the bigger air. Seemed like a cheap nice upgrade. Will be glad I have it when it is really warm.

I just ordered our 28RLS with the 15k unit and second ac unit in the bedroom. Was worth the extra money to hopefully maintain a cool trailer in the southeast where we live and southwest where we plan to go for a while.

The 15K was a wise choice I would suggest that you top it off with a digital thermostat for about $60.00 it would be another good investment.

2x on the digital thermostat, Coleman 8330-3362 Single Stage Heat/Cool Digital Wall Thermostat. Check your model number to be sure it is compatible. Will keep your trailer within one degree of your setting. Easy diy install.

The rig we bought off the lot has the 15k a/c. Definitely worth the extra $150. Especially when another dealer that had a 32 with the 13.5k a/c was ~$2k more than we paid for our rig (everything else was a wash)!!! So an even better deal I guess. Lol

Still need to do the digital t-stat upgrade. The analog works, but you can tell it the most accurate as mentioned.

Enjoy the new rig!!!

If I were ordering a new trailer, I'd definitely order the 15k unit. Always better to have the 15k and not need it, than need the 15k and not have it.

Any trailer that has ducted AC will have a wall mounted thermostat. And if you have a wall mounted thermostat, I wholeheartedly will agree with replacing it with a digital one.

I haven't had a trailer yet that had ducted AC, but I have still replaced the wall mounted heater thermostat with a digital one.
