154bh can smell exhaust from fridge

Hello, I have had my trailer for 2 years and have not had any issues with the fridge up until my last 2 trips. When I operate the fridge on propane I can smell some exhaust (not like regular propane). I can smell it inside the trailer and also outside in the vent area. There is also some heat coming out of the vent (which may be normal but I just have never noticed before). I have never noticed this on any of our numerous other trips so it is like something has changed. The smell is quite strong but it never sets off the detector. I tried it a couple times and it kept happening. We are not using the propane any more but am hoping someone can give me a tip on what it could be? It is a Norcold 3cu ft and model year 2011. Thank you.

When you state that you feel heat coming out of the vent, do you mean the louvered panel on the side of the camper or the vent on the roof? If on the side, and not the roof, I'd first check to make sure that the heat riser tube/chimney/whatever you want to call it that's above the burner is not blocked...spider or mud wasp nest, or something of the like.

It is the vent on the side of the trailer. How do I check for blockage?

On a water heater burner tube we'd blow them out with compressed air. I'd think that you could do the same with the the fridge. If it wasn't raining so hard right now I'd go look at mine to verify.

I don't know if Norcold still does this, but on our 2000 N841 there is a little tab you can move that uncovers a peep hole to allow you to inspect the flame, which should be blue, of course. If yellow, than something's prohibiting enough air to mix with the propane to permit a proper burn.
