154BH Permanent Table?

We decided we are going to use our bunks to sleep (Yeah, romantic, I know) and would like to keep the table up permanently, use for meals when on the road. The dealer told us to stow the table when we are moving. I'm afraid it will bounce around if we leave it as it is. Anyone have any suggestions?

Some stow the table when traveling and some do not. I have always left it up, but that does not make me right by any means. No issues yet after 3 1/2 years.

I asked a similar question a while back, most leave them up and seem to have no problems. Like you, I am little concerned about it bouncing around while towing so we will probably put ours down. It only takes a minute to set back up.

So you think a couple of eye bolts and hooks to the back wall should do the trick? That way we can take it down if needed.
At least it would keep if from sliding into the bathroom!

Not sure if we are talking about the same setup. This pic shows a typical RV dinette table with legs that pull out of the floor sockets. The table lays down on the seats and gets covered with the cushions to make a bed.

Is this a pedestal table or one with folding legs? If it has folding legs I would not leave that up, but that's just me. Ours is like the one Crabman posted a pic of, looks like most of the Swift SLX line have folding legs on the tables.

I have the pedestal table and I don't put it down to tow. No problem so far.

We leave ours up. lots of miles, no problems

... and that's why we leave ours up.

Edit: If we did a lot off-road travel, I would take it down. We rarely get off paved roads so there isn't a lot of weight shift going on in the trailer. When we are on a non-paved road, it's usually a short distance to a remote CG and we take it real easy.

Just pick up some stretch tie down cords from WALMART which comes in various length up to 52-inches I think. If it needs to be a longer length add two together... Surely you can find a place to hook into the wall side close to keep the table from moving around when in transit mode.

We have the same type setup in our OFF-ROAD POPUP and have elected to leave it as a lounge seat. Perfect for the two two us to lay in and watch HDTV... We don't miss not having the table at all. Eat inside sitting on the lounge seat or outside sitting in lounge chair or picnic table...

Yeah I can see where they would advise you to take that down while traveling since it is not fixed to the floor.

I have a 154BH as well - I have (2) suggestions....(1) use PVC pipe clamps and screw the legs to the floor (2) Remove the back folding leg and attach the table to the wall with a wooden style. - Brian
