Smile 16' 27BHS Homecoming!

Picked up our new trailer yesterday ( 16' jay flight 27BHS ) and here is the story of the pick-up and drive home.

We bought it from a dealer about 75 miles away. We were trading our 14 x18D in so I pulled that one out there, it was crazy windy (20mph with gust of 30 )with some snow and rain but we did okay - I got 9.2mpg.

Walk-through was great, we hooked-up and left for the return trip. I was a little nervous from the wind that I experienced on the way out. It was also my first time towing something 31.5' long and 6300lbs. Trip home was great!! It towed soooo much better then our previous trailer. A few gusts pushed us around a bit, but we handled it. Got it home safe and sound and we camped in the driveway . Here is the surprising part, we got 11.8mpg on the way home! I was expecting it to be worse not better. Maybe it was a tail-wind.

Overall the truck did awesome, and we are love, love, loving our new baby - so much different than our hybrid. There is so much storage! It was 33 here last night and the heater worked great, kicked on a few times - trailer does an awesome job at holding the heat.

Looking forward to dragging it all over!

Smile

Glad to hear you really like the new TT. Your comment about towing eases my mind some. Looking forward to getting mine.
