'16 Jay Flight 32 BHDS Is Home!

Thu evening we picked up our '16 Jay Flight 32 BHDS!!! All went pretty well except the dealer getting us the wrong shank. They are supposed (so they say) to be getting me the correct Reese Titan 2.5" shank in place of the Husky mid-drop shank they gave me.

Spent most of Fri packing the trailer for a short w/e trip. Tried to adjust the hitch a little after loading, but from trying to finish up so we could hit the road, and being a little tired, I tilted the hitch head the wrong way! Still towed ok though. Saturday I re-adjusted the hitch, and on the way home today we hit the CAT Scales. Front axle weight is restored 100%, so should be set there other than needing the correct shank and possibly raising the head a little.

Trip went well. The 15k a/c kick did a gresat job! Think there may have been ice on the counter!!!! Lol

Have a few mods to do this week before our big trip next week. Going to put some shelves in the 3 wardrobes, and mount some hooks to hang sweatshirts/ jackets. Will mount some fence post sleeves under the trailer for the sewer hose, 7' folding ladder, possibly a 3rd for some pvc poles for a tarp "tent" for when the weather doesn't cooperate. And if time allows will make a couple flag poles. I plan on adding hinges and a door pull to the water heater panel to make it easier to get to the valves for winterizing. Something else I plan on doing is wiring the step light so it will turn on without the awning light. And adding a light to the bathroom steps also.

Here are a couple pics I took on the way home Thu night when we stopped for dinner. Didn't take any at the cg, but will on our trip next week.

Anyone know what brand the scissor jacks are? May add another set in the middle. I know most are 99% the same (it seems anyway!). And were we suppose to receive 2 scissor jack cranks, or one? I know the older trailer all came with 2, but we only got 1.

TY!!! This is our first Jayco, and very excited and happy so far!

Spent last night making shelves for the wardrobes. Need to get some stain for them now, then get them installed. Will start a mod thread when I do. Then work on the step light(s) ad fence post sleeve.

So much to do.... Lol

Looks good. As for the scissor jacks... I don't know what brand they come with but I bought a set of Husky ones from camping world. I installed them in the middle just in front of the axles. They are heavier duty than the stock ones and work well.

The stabilizers on my '15 are lippert "ultra lite" model 113407. I luckily haven't needed the manual crank handles yet, as the powered jacks are so continent. Interestingly, there is a "BAL" label on the street side warning me to only use the manual crank.

I totally agree about the lack of a traditional porch light. I like the override switch idea for the step light.

Wait a second, you said "scissor" jacks.... Do you not have the jacks that drop both pads at the same time? I wonder.... Could those lippert dual pads be part of the "elite" package?

Regarding the Scissor jacks, we only got 1 crank with our 2016 as well. I like your step light idea a lot. Enjoy the new rig!

We have the Elite Pkg, but the electric stabilizer jacks were an option over and above that.

I just want to make sure whatever I add has the same crank size really. I know the factory scissors are a 3/4", and it seems most other jacks are as well so we should be good to go!

TY all!!!

Hi need... Are you just looking for a backup crank handle?

No, don't "need" a second handle, but it is a good job for our twin 12yo boys to get the scissor jacks down 90% of the way while I am doing other things! Lol

If I get another set of jacks for the middle that will give me Ine more crank handle.

Just know the older campers came with 2, wondered if that was still the case but it is a way to cut cost.

My 2014 only came with one crank for the scissor jacks. And the Husky scissor jacks I installed use the same size crank/socket...

Well, I forgot that I didn't post about picking up our new 32 until a couple days later on Sun, so I missed our trailer's "1yr Birthday"!!!

It's been a year now that we have owned our 32 BHDS. Still love the room, and floor plan. At times I do wonder if a slightly smaller trailer would have been a better choice for a little better site availability, and ease of getting into and out of businesses (food stops). But then I know there is always a give and take on things.

TY again to all that helped answer our questions leading up to the purchase of our "Rolling Brick"!!! Everyone here is awesome!!!

It has been a long journey to this point with all the mods I have done so far. And there are a few more I still want to do!!! Lol

Can't wait for our upcoming w/e river trip this Fri-Sun, and then we turn around and leave again next Wed for our big trip of the year!!!
