174BH jay flight heater

First time camper owner .. 174bh Jay flight ... would like to use the heater to take the chill off a little. Do I open the propane tank and just turn the furnace on or is there more to this? Trying not to blow us up .. lol!

Without going into details, that's about it. Suggest you read the owner's manual for specifics. If you don't have the book, you can download it for free.

Turn on the propane tank knob slowly. Turn on the burner to the stove to get propane in the line. Turn off the burner to the stove. Turn on the furnace on the control switch (not sure where yours is.) Adjust the thermostat if needed. Note that some furnaces need to be run on "auto" for the fan on the thermostat setting because "high" will blow air out of the air conditioning ducts. I hope this helps. I don't know what settings are on your thermostat...

It probably will cycle a few times before the burner lights especially if it hasn't been used in a while. It'll only go through the cycles three times before it locks out for lack of gas, so turn the thermostat off, and back on again for three more tries. You may get lucky, and it lights on the third try. It takes a bit for propane to get there.
