198RD Axles

Good morning,
Does anyone know the make/capacity of the axles on the 198RD? I found an old post which said they were rated at 3,500 lbs. I'm in the process of repacking the bearings and I messed up a seal. I looked on the axle from the but could not find a stamp.

Thanks.

I'm guessing they are made by Dexter. If so, their CS department will be able to help you with identification.

You are correct. It’s Dexter. Thanks!

Both seals should be replaced at every re-pack. My Dexter 3500# axles used these:

FYI...my original Dexter bearings were stamped "Made in China", were 7 years old when I replaced them with new (MIC)...after 20,000 miles they still looked new.
