Question 2 fresh water tanks

Can someone help Me understand what happens when the first fresh water tanks empties, how does it draw from the second one. This happened to us yesterday and the pump seems to run continuous and made a different sound and the water wasn’t coming?

Thanks Bruce

It's my assumption that the tanks are connected together and fill and empty together equally. So if your pumping just air you are out of water.

Thanks, yes the tanks are connected as they filled together but the gauge says one empty and the other full. I will try to use the lower tank valves and see if anything comes out of the second tank.

We have twin 40 gallon fresh tanks on our Eagle but only 1 gauge for both. A sensor for each tank must be something new. Hopefully your connection between the tanks isn't clogged somehow.

Ditto, Mine has two tanks that are tied together. They fill and empty as one tank. Only one fresh water gauge.

What type rig do you have? Maybe we have a new configuration.

X whatever for two tanks, but only one sensor. Our tanks are tied together from the bottom of the tanks, at the tank drain. That is also where the pump draws from.

As mentioned, what rig do you have? Adding the info to your signature sometimes allows easier or quicker answers.

We have two tanks on our 23RB. They fill together and empty together. And while each tank has it's own drain, both tanks will empty using only one drain. And I have only one gauge inside.

Like others have said, my Eagle has dual tanks that fill/empty together - with only one sensor. There are two overflow drains under the trailer, but that's, obviously, not your issue. Did your rig come with a washer/dryer prep? I know most rigs that do have a second grey tank for the washer. Maybe the second fresh tank is for the washer as well, and only draws water off the washer connection. Just a thought. Check your owners' manual (although they're pretty generic - and may not cover your situation). As a last resort, try calling your dealer and/or Jayco's service line. Have your model # and VIN ready when you call Jayco. Good luck!

Could you please tell us what gauges you have? I believe most of us have the battery, fresh, black, and gray indicators. Only one fresh water gauge.
