2 water tanks/total 80 gal water tank?
I own a 2018 Jayflight rocky mountain/baha. Specs say 80 gal/ two tanks of fresh water capable, but it only has one fresh water monitor gage? It seemed we did not come close to using 80 gal when gage read, "empty" on first 3 day trip. Any knowledge or guidence on how to tell how much tank is full and how two tanks work with this configuration?

2 water tanks are joined together with hose and only use one sensor on the one tank, also only one fill port but two drain port. Did you actually run out of water or did your gauge read empty? I use the gauge as reference.

We did not run out but gage read empty. How do you use gage as a reference if it's not accurate? Or did I misunderstand? And if sensor just measures one tank what good is it? Also, you mentioned two drain ports. I know where one is on the driver side close to tires. Can you tell me where the other one is?

2 water tanks/total 80 gal water tank?
The water sensor is not accurate. When tank gauge read empty, I still have water. When the water pump keeps on running and I don’t have water is when I am out of water. The 2 water tanks act as one tank that is why there is only one sensor and one fill port and one water pump. There is a hose linking the tanks together. I have 2 over fill drain lines and 2 drain valves.

This, the gauges are basically just a rough guesstimate. When my gauge says E im close to out and need to think about getting refilled but I’ve run a whole day on E before. Once you get to know your camper and how much water you use on average you’ll have a better idea of how long you can go. Like said above, I’m out of water when my pump won’t stop running because it can’t prime itself anymore. Hopefully I planned ahead and secured more water prior to that happening.

It happens that I just called Jayco today with the same question about my 248RBSW and got the same answer: Two 38-gallon fresh water tanks linked with a hose. One fill, one gauge, one hose to pump, but 2 overflow tubes on the right side. I also found out there is no possibility of mounting any tank heaters! Turns out Jayco “does not recommend” using the TT when temperature drops below freezing. Why is this called the “Rocky Mountain” Edition?

That doesn’t make any sense considering the enclosed belly and the fact the furnace is ducted to heat the tanks and plumbing. I’m thinking the person you talked to has no clue what they are talking about.

It was Michelle in technical support (who I had to wait 30 minutes to talk to) AND her supervisor. I actually also asked that specific question: Is the in-floor heating system enough to keep FW tanks from freezing without tank heaters?
“No” “Jayco does not recommend use in freezing weather.” Quoth the Raven.
Mystifying considering I saw a brochure advertising the “wrap” system with enclosed tanks enabling 70-degree inside temps when outside might be between 0 to 100 degrees F.

On my first trip out last year in my Jayco 28BHS I kept thinking we were running out of water as I kept a constant eye on the levels. I then put some figures together to figure out how many gallons could be left at different levels. This is what I came up with.
Full = >80 gallons
2/3 = 53-78 gallons
1/3 = 26-52 gallons
Empty = <25 gallons
So you could be reading empty but still have as much at 25 gallons in the tank.

Yes, if that’s the case then what’s the point of the “Polar Package” with enclosed heated belly and added insulation lol. I’ve camped in freezing weather and my tanks did just fine. Once again, someone was blowing smoke or uninformed.
