2000 Jayco Travel trailer

Greetings:

I have a 2000 Jayco Travel Trailer. I am looking for the following items:

1. On the sides of the trailer, where the electrical connection is, there is a plastic piece that has 3 screws holing this item in, (Please see pictures) I have looked on Jayco parts direct, and not there. I went to the local trailer store, they have very Similar but still would have to modify. Does any one know where to get replacements for this?

2. There is rubber covers that cover the front lock covers, where can these be purchased?

3. Also there is a cable tv outlet, with a rubber cover. Where can this be purchased?

TIA
Clay

Those all appear to be "standard" RV items, not make specific. They can be purchased at most RV stores. Remove the old clean the surface and install the new with caulking. (also available at the RV store) The power cord fitting can be replaced with one like it or there is a kit to make the cord removable. All easy fixes.

Electrical Hatch. It's a standard item, you shouldn't have to modify anything.

Cable TV cover

Not sure about the lock cover but I'm sure there is one out there.

And use butyl tape for the backing, not regular caulking.

X3 on these items being very common and fairly easy to replace.

Find an RV store that is nearby and you can trust (yeah a tough combination) also be prepared to order quite a bit from Amazon and other etailers.

Once you really dig into the guts of your RV, you find that there are many standard parts that are available from Home Depot or Lowes.

The biggest headache is figuring out which retailer carries the kind of thing you need.

I managed to keep a 1983 TT going from 2009-2014 using stuff bought locally.

The only things that are unique to RV's are the frame, siding, roof, cabinets and appliances. Everything else is used in other industries:
- Generally, the plumbing is all common household stuff
- The 120V AC stuff is household stuff too
- The 12V DC stuff can be found at auto parts stores
- The axles are the same under MANY different kinds of trailers.

Good luck with the new-to-you RV! The parts to make it perfect for your needs are out there.

^ X2 ^ We have a 2004 Jayflight 27 BH. I replaced my power cord cover, cable hook up cover and our city water connection cover. All ordered from Amazon. Be sure to get the correct size. I measured all of them and read all the product specs before ordering.
