2006 31BHS missing something?

Hello all...first post here. We just bought a 2006 Jay Flight 31BHS. Love the layout! When checking out the innards I noticed two wires not hooked to anything, one white one black. They are under the fridge, behind the bottom-most cabinet door. The wires have stripped ends, as though they were attached to something at one time. Now, they're just flapping around in the cabinet. Everything else works (so far) in the camper. Any idea what they could have been used for?

Can you post a picture of the area and the wires? Do they look to be 110V (AC) power, like you have in your house, or are they two fully separate wires (12VDC).

I have some ideas; but I really do not know that trailer. Does it look like the previous owner might have installed some kind of powered “widget” there at one time? Is it a finished interior of the a cabinet, like your pantry or a utility area?

Pictures could really help.

By the way congratulations on you new trailer. Hopefully someone can help.

Black & white wire would indicate to me that its a 12 volt D.C. source & ground wire. Does it look like it was connected to something at one time? (wires flattened or marked?). If not then possibley just a power source for an option you don't have.

Welcome to JOF

I agree, sounds like the previous owner removed something powered by the wires, could have been almost anything. I'm sure you taped the exposed wire ends..., at least until you find a use for them yourself.

Here's pics from the interior. Upon closer inspection, there seems to be a bracket screwed to the floor too. Only one, though.
First pic is the kitchen area. The cabinet with the wires is the lowest one under the fridge.Click image for larger version

The ends of the wires are flattened. These two wire break away from the wire loom at the top of the cabinet, not the loom entering the floor.Click image for larger version

Any ideas, folks?

Bump

Djflash99, I see no one has chimed in to help you solve your question. I am not sure what those wires are for. Being they are run through the wall with the OEM wire harness, I recommend calling Jayco, and ask for the wiring schematic for your trailer. They will want your vin number.

They are part of your 12VDC wiring system, black is hot, white is neutral. I would recommend placing a wire nut on each wire for now.

I wonder if someone installed an axillary fan in the frig?
Hard to say what was there. Getting the wiring diagram from Jayco is a good idea as they may point to an option that was taken out by PO.
X2 to putting some wire nuts on those wires.

Best regards,
Doug

I have a 2008 31bhs. Same layout as in your pictures. The location of the bracket and wires is where my subwoofer for the surround sound is. Was there a previous owner? Maybe they took the subwoofer out. Not positive but that's where mine is located. Hope this helps.
