2008 jayco 29fbs inline battery fuse blows

The inline battery fuse blows as soon as we replace it. Anyone with same model have any ideas?

Means something somewhere is shorting to ground. Very time consuming to trace, could be anywhere.

Two of the lights in the slide don't work after changing bulbs, I will start in that area. Thanks.

I would turn off all 12 volt things and unplug from shore power. Then pull all 12 volt fuses in the fuse panel. Put a good battery fuse into its housing near the battery. Put your multimeter to amps (probably need to test at 30 amps at least) and test across each fuse socket. You will get small currents on circuits that run radio station presets and gas sensors. Look for something more than 30 amps but do not leave the leads connected for long at all or you will fry a wire!

PS, What I described may not find the culpret because individual circuits are protected by their fuses. If this is the case, the short to ground is occurring between the battery and the fusebox I think. I hope an electrician can chime in here!

Standard procedure to check for shorts (if possible) is to cut that circuit in half. Checking those lights for power and proper connection is a good easy start. Visual inspection under the RV is another, just looking for those loose hanging or frayed wires. You may need to drop a false wall in the storage compartment and do a visual there too. Lastly pulling the circuit box. I would leave that for the mobile tech..

good luck...
