2009 Jayflight 2,500 mile trip

We have owned our 2009 Jayflight 25BHS for 3 years. We have towed it to a couple of short 2 hour trips but nothing long. We are looking to do a week and a half trip to Disney. Approximately 2,500 miles round trip.
An acquaintance mentioned these were not made to travel this far and turn around to come back.
Our truck is a 2 year old F-250 low mileage. Huge trip for 2 adults and 2 under 7. Please stop us if this is insane to do.
We love the camper and use it every weekend at a seasonal sight in the summer so would hate for something to happen to it.

We recently completed a 3,000 mile trip in one week and had a great time.

Not sure why anyone would think that. We did a 5000 mile trip this year in our Whitehawk and had a blast. The main thing is if your going on long trips just make sure you are prepared and that you're equipment is ready also. Like wheel bearings, tires etc

We did Disney last summer. About 1700 miles round trip for us. Other than using a huge amount of fuel it was a great trip with NO problems from our 32BHDS. I say go for it.

In the first 2 years I had mine, I pulled it about 30,000 miles. East coast to west coast, north to south. Just make sure your tires, brakes and bearings are in good shape. If you still have the original tires, they are around 5 years old, so they should be replaced, even if they look like new. Age is the biggest destroyer of TT tires.

Whoever gave you advice is wrong. I did Disney fro Orange County NY. I traveled I-95 the entire way. The first day we did close to 400 miles and that night when washing the dishes I noticed a small leak under my sink, it turns out one of the drain couplers had backed off a little probably due to all the bouncing down the highway.
Now each year when we first camp I ensure I check all the water/drain fittings.

We purchased our Jayco Eagle (our 6th RV), took it out for a shakedown weekend, then the following week we drove from Long Island to Nashville and back. Round trip was about 2100 miles and had a great time. Since Nashville we have done about 10 short trips. We now are planning on one long trip per year and many short trips.

As others have said, check your tires, bearings and brakes before a long trip, just go and have a GREAT time!!!

I do a 4000 mile round trip every winter and another 4000 during the summer. All with no problems.. so your friend is just a worry wart. (or a Mr Negativity)

We do several trips a year and there all over 4,000 miles and no problems. Follow what SmokerBill said and you should have an enjoyable trip and all your trips should be enjoyable as well.
