2014 338RETS worth upgrading to a 16+?

Hello all, I'm looking into purchasing my first Travel Trailer for work since I work in construction. I have 0 intentions of going on trips or camping.
A co-worker is parting ways and he is selling his 2014 Jayco 338RETS for what I believe is a killer cash deal.
Thing is I started looking at luxury travel trailers this whole past week and doing a little more research shopping. I can get a 2016 338RETS for $8-10k more on average. The 2018+ models are still a good $20k in price difference so those are out of the equation.

The thing is, this being my first travel trailer will it be worth paying the extra 8-10K in getting a 2016 model? From what I can tell the only major difference is the front cap, color scheme and frame-less windows. Other than that everything else looks very identical.
Reason being is that I don't want to finance it, but if the upgrade is worth it I may consider that route.

Or would it be best to spend a few dollars on the 2014 model to upgrade the interior trim and counter tops to make it look like a modern 338RETS?

Thanks for your advice!

$18,300 cash.
2016 models I have been finding them anywhere from $25-30,000. Closer to the 30's to the same condition as this 2014 besides the oxidation on the top of the front cover.

Me too.. I’m thinking any bugs in the 2014 have been worked out already, so that’s a plus imo.
If the 14 hasn’t been moved around a lot, it should be fine.. it’s the road wear and tear that really puts a hurt on these rigs

That model year MSRP was 40850.00 + options check it out here http://www.jayco.com/tools/archive/2...ilers/338rets/
I went new because I wasn't willing to pay the high prices for used.

18 is a good price, have him to throw in all the extras he has.
