2014 Eagle floorplans

I was just looking at the 2014 line up for the Eagle TT. They appear to have 5 new floorplans with 3 of the 5 having the BH designation. The remaining two having the same design but different lengths. Compare this to last years 10 floorplans with 1 of the ten having the BH design. Jayco's sales must be showing a change
In the way people want their floorplans.

I noticed that they brought back a full 3 slide travel trailer in the Eagle 338RETS. I know Jayco lost a few customers on this Forum because they dropped their 3 slide campers. Good to have one back as we were looking at a Flagstaff that has 3 slides.

I also noticed this popular real lounger floorplan is discontinued for `14 in the Eagle lineup. Still available in Whitehawk, Jayflight, and Eagle 5ers though....

Crabman, We purchased that floorplan in July. We ordered it and after we took delivery Jayco announced it was discontinued. It is perfect for us. In fact living in it now on the side of house, while we are under remodel. We will be here for another week or so. The one thing we liked was the television cabinet is angled and can be viewed from the couch, recliners and can be swung out and viewed while at the dinette. Where some of the rear living units the tv is farther away for viewing. That is how our Jay Flight 26RLS was set up. We like this set up so much better.

I guess Jayco probably didn't sell enough of our rear living unit.

I see what you mean about the TV arrangement. It is rare to see a floorplan like that where the TV is easily viewed from the seats and couch at the same time.

Just watched a You Tube video on the new 338RETS from Haylett RV in Michigan, it's now dubbed Eagle Premier. That's one nice looking trailer. If I heard him correctly, I think he said that Eagle Superlite & Eagle combined to what's now called Eagle Premier. Hopefully, we'll check one out at the Indy RV Show in January.

Anyone see the new 2014 Eagle 314 bhds. Looks like a door was eliminated for the front bedroom and a microwave was added to the outside kitchen. Looked it up on line to try to see interior pictures could not find any. This is compared to the 314 bds.

It appears most of the new 2014 Eagle TT models have gone to the no or very little counter space kitchen. The only counters space you get is if you use your sink covers. The largest model 338RETS has the largest kitchen. If you want the solid surface counter it is a $943 option. A lot for a small space.

Donedroolin, we did see the bhds. There is still 2 doors and yes the microwave was added to the outside kitchen but the one we saw had no stove outside only a drawer.

We have a new 338RLTS and whent with the solid surface counter top. The biggest suprise was how stable and steady this things acts going down the road. I have pulled campers for many years but this one pulls heavy, it takes some power to move it but its steady. I can have a transfer truck on each side at 65mph and I am not moving an inch in my track, no sway.

I am glad we got our 2013 257rbs when we did and did not wait till 2014. that floorplan is not for everyone but for us it is great and one reason we like it is the counter space.

Eldermike, Our unit came in with the solid surface countertop, I love the look and the extra space it give us. I like your kitchen lay out very much. Enjoy the new TT.

I bought a 2013 334RBTS and love the floor plan. Not sure why Jayco dumped it after one year. When we were looking at Travel Trailers, we were sold on the quality of the Jayco and bought the only 334 within 300 miles of us. With the wife and I getting older and the kid bringing friends this floor plan works perfectly. Maybe Jayco can shed light on why the 334RBTS was only made in 2013.

Well, we were one of those that Jayco lost. We tried for months to find a 2012 three slide model- no luck. Even went to the factory & talked with the folks down there. So we finally gave up and traded our 2007 Eagle in and bought a 2014 Keystone Cougar High Country 321RES. Build quality is great and styling is really sharp. Every campground we've been to this year we've had folks come over and talk to us about it.
The 338RETS would have been something to consider. Though I don't like that 1140# hitch weight. That's a lot of weight up there. Our Cougar has 865# hitch weight. Sure wish Jayco would have told us about the 338RETS- I would have waited.
Oh well..........
Happy trails,

It's a lot of weight up front but that adds to the stability in towing. It's made for 3/4 ton and larger TV.

When you get through adding up the weight of the battery(s) full propane tanks and all the stuff you load in the front pass through storage area you're getting way up there in weight. 3/4 ton pick up for sure...
Even though the kitchen has very little counter space this floor plan will probably be a hit.....
GO JAYCO!!!
Happy trails,

Bill B & Eldermike-- Bill B, in 2012, we looked at the Cougar High Country 321 at the Indy RV show and would have bought it but they wouldn't budge on the price. Got our 2 slided Eagle 320 for 6k less, which was still an upgrade from our 1 slided Flagstaff. I can't believe we're actually looking to upgrade so early again, but you can't have too many slides, right?. Glad to see you're still part of the Forum. Eldermike, if you know your approximate loaded tongue weight on your 338, would you share it with me? My Eagle 320 has 1400lbs on the tongue and I'm pulling with the same truck as you. Mines a 2012 F-250 crew with the 6.7l. Thanks, Terry

Terry,
I worked with three Michigan Cougar dealers on pricing before I bought our 321RES. We ended up at General RV Wixom, Michigan and paid $32,000 out the door (all taxes -plates etc.. included). Our trailer had every option. Had Jayco offered this unit I probably would have bought it because I liked Jayco Eagle's. Just showed the wife the videos & spec's on the 338RETS and she said she would not want that trailer due to the small kitchen counter area. The Cougar High Country has the large L-Shaped Corian counters with dual stainless steel sunken sinks.
Happy trails,

I understand where you are, we traded a 2012 camper on this one. I have not put the camper on any scales, but with the front storage packed I am guessing we are close to 1500lbs. I am ordering the firestone air bags for my truck this week and will install them myself. As it stands now I can get my rig level with the equalizer 12K hitch but it takes a setting on the bars that makes it very difficult to unhook from. The air bags will allow me to go down one setting on the bars and still pull level. But even with the current setup it's the best pulling TT of the 4 I have owned. You have plenty of truck for the camper.

You can always step up to Equalizers 1400# bars. That's what I have on our Ram. Originally had them for the 2007 Jayco 322FKS and now use them on the 2014 Cougar. just a thought.
Happy trails,
