2015 Ford F250 "check engine" light OBD code P0248

Any insight,
During our return trip from out west 36 miles east outside Tucson my "check engine" light came on. I checked it with my OBD reader and identified a P0248 code. From what I read this is a generic code across manufactures but for Ford it relates to a "Cylinder 8 Contribution Balance" issue. Let me add that the truck ran normal...no shuddering, rough engine idling, no white smoke or loss of power, etc.
I took the truck into the nearest dealer and the diesel tech could not find anything wrong with the engine and eventually ran a TSB Ford put out for this. No other issues driving the remainder distance back to San Antonio
Needless to say this caused and entire day delay being 838 miles from home and a concern. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was on a trip to TN last year. This is becoming a concern if I have to deal with this every time I am out traveling and towing my trailer.
Does anyone have any insights or have and dealt with this issue? Could it be just a fouled up fuel injector or fuel rail from all the different brand/type diesel going into the tank. I can say I was not using a diesel fuel additive at every fill up. I usually add some in about every 4-5 fills. Just to be safe I did add some in on every fill since Tucson and plan to continue to do this all the time.

Thanks for any constructive replies in advance

Sure that's the right code? I just checked and can't find that code?

I think the confusion here is your title says code P0248 but in your paragraph you state P2048. Here is the P0248 code info which was stated earlier. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article...lerie-johnston

I talked with a Ford Diesel service technician along with the service manager today. Still not a definite answer as to what the cause is.

However, I can rule out the "Turbo Wastegate Solenoid B - Range/ Performance" issue since they both stated the later model 2015 6.7L Diesel (which I have) had a redesign of the turbos and eliminated the wastegate Solenoid. They both are inclined to believe based on their experience it may be a fuel system issue (fuel injector, fuel rail, clogged injector, etc). The code P0248 apparently has 26 sub-related connected codes to it-a catch all code the said. I will have to wait until the code reappears and we can start the more in-depth diagnoses .

I am hoping for the best and for it not to reappear.
