2017 Jay Flight 28BHBE

Went to look at our just delivered 2017 28BHBE. Love some things, others not so much. Love the new flooring and back splash behind the sink and stove. Don't know about the stainless fridge. Love the 8 cubic feet though! The stainless microwave and oven are very nice looking. We got the Canyon color which is nice too. They added smoked glass to some of the cabinet doors and removed the fabric "headboard" and put wood paneling back there. Overall, we can't wait to pick it up next week!

Roof and top of slide...

You can see the new style TV antenna. I really like this as it isn't bouncing against the roof. We don't camp with a TV so it isn't important to have it, just important to not eventually damage the roof.

Weight comes in at just over 6500# dry...

Astro,

Congrats!!! Looks great!!!

When you get the new rig home, could you take a pic at night of the counter accent lighting please. I am intrigued by this new feature. The new tv antenna would be a nice feature also.

Enjoy the new rig!!!

It seems from what some of the 28 BHBE owners have reported in regards to weight is it all depends on how you load the tt. You may not be able to load much in the tv bed, or pack a lot in the front pass through. A lot depends on your particular 150/1500 also in regards to the payload of your truck, family weight, and what you usually load in the truck bed.

You sold your 32 due to having a 1500 I am guessing? It definitely is a 2500/3500 trailer.

Thanks guys! I fully intend to tow it with the Tundra. I have a ProPride hitch so sway is not going to be an issue. Power won't be an issue either. Payload for sure WILL be! I will probably have to add air bags or something to the soft rear suspension of the Tundra.

I will get pics at night once it's home.

Lifted, was the sway command an option or is it standard on the 2017's? I did not order it, nor did I pay for it, but I saw my 2017 28bhbe camper today and it has the yellow sway command sticker on the a-frame and the round circle thing (not even sure what that is) on front of camper on driver's side right above where diamond plate meets the fiberglass. I've not researched this feature...

Also do u have the hide a bed option or the jack knive sofa? Thanks

Sway Command is an option. All the campers are prepped for it which is what that sticker tells us. We did not get it.

We got the regular jack knife sofa. 99% of the time it will be just the wife and I. Our first grand-baby is due soon though! Our daughter and SIL just got notice their new 2017 29BHDS came in as well. They camp with us a lot so not sure we will ever use the sofa for a bed.

Very nice. Looks like 7O's? Will be there tomorrow for some warranty/recall work on mine. Still not crazy about the dark colors.

We bought our 32 off the lot and it has the hide a bed option. It is not something I would have ordered, until I looked at the bed dimensions for the '15 model ('16 doesn't have bed dimensions listed on the website) and noticed how much larger of a bed it is compared to the jack knife sofa.

Not sure we will ever have to utilize it, but for an adult who may sleep there it will be nice.

Wonder if the sway command prep is a pre wire like the back up camera. It would be nice to hear of and see some true reviews of this system to see if it is worth it or not. Not knowing at what point it activates (still savable or not from a situation) makes it tough to decide.

Ok that makes sense about the sway command. I didn't want it but didn't ask the sales lady about the stickers. Thank you

Congrats on the upcoming grand-baby! That's awesome. That's great your daughter is getting a new camper and will be camping with you all as well.

I think the stainless appliances are really nice. They stand out against the dark cabinets to help break up the kitchen

Nope. Have an F350, just looking to downsize. Mine is a daily driver, and id like a nicer ride and nicer payment.

Towed it home and it sure pulls harder than the 26BH! Need to adjust the hitch more (made a simple math error in the initial setup so front of trailer was too high). The Tundra pulled it pretty decent and I could run any speed I wanted depending on what gear I was in. I try to run in 5th with torque converter locked. I also have installed taller LT275/70R18 tires so the trans tends to unlock the TC easily when towing. Depending on how it pulls when fully loaded, I may end up towing in 4th direct drive. In that case the truck easily out pulls the speed ratings of the trailer tires! Got some airbags coming thanks to member on here!

So far we have fully cleaned the interior cabinets, fridge, toilet, shower and sinks and all that stuff. Fridge is on and I have added a Shurflo accumulator and whisper quiet hose kit from the 26BH. Right now we are just trying to get the best placement for all the gear.
