2017 Jayco 5th recall

My 2017 291RSTS Jayco 5th wheel had a battery disconnect switch recall. It stated that the interior lights may be miss wired to allow power while the disconnect was on.

I just picked it up from the dealer, all fixed. But, the service tech told me that besides the interior lights being wired incorrectly, the solar was wired to the wrong side on the switch by the factory and would not allow the battery to be charged while the disconnect was on. (Unit was prewired for solar and I added a 100 watt panel.) I didn’t ask, but I believe the converter could not charge the batteries either, I quit using the disconnect right after I purchased the rig because I could tell something was wrong when the disconnect was on.

With all that said, I still think the batteries will be dead after a week or two, I’ll test it. The tech also recommended that the batteries be removed/unhooked during long storage periods or winter and put on a trickle charger, that tells me he also lacked confidence in the battery disconnect setup.

I know that battery disconnects have been debated to death in other threads, just wanted everyone to know that there was an actual recall for my model.
