2019 29RKS multiple failures

Ok Jayco fam. Here's what we have. The vent hood fan won't come on. The electrical outlets on the right side of the the unit are de-energized in the kitchen and living room area. Additionally the outlets in the bathroom are also de-energized. Lastly, the microwave has stopped working. The electrical outlets and microwave all stopped working at the same time so I'm guessing a common point of failure. The vent hood fan stopped working a couple of months before that. I'm full time in the unit so dropping it off at the dealer is a no go. Does anyone have any ideas? I've already reset the breakers twice. Any help or troubleshooting that I've missed would be good and if any of you have had the same issues I'd love to hear what your resolution was.

Have you checked the GFI reset on the outlets? Also are you 50 amp? You could have lost one side at the pedestal, or it could be a loose connection in you breaker panel.

Only the bathroom outlet has GFI. The 4 in the living room and kitchen area do not. We are 50 amp though the pedastal I'm on has separate always on 30 and 50 amp connections.

The kitchen has to be on a GFI because of water at the sink so there has to be another GFI, or they could all be together on the same GFI circuit. Did you reset the one in the bathroom? You could still loose one side of the 50 amp at the pedestal which means you only have power to half of the breakers inside. Have you reset the breaker on the pedestal? One side of that breaker may have tripped without tripping the other side. Rare, but it happens.

If the pedestal has both 30 & 50 amp service, try using a 50 to 30 amp adapter and plug into the 30 socket and see what happens.

I have power from the pedestal. The issue is definitely in the unit. Additional info, the microwave went out when I was just starting to heat something. I started the cycle and it went out literally 2 seconds in but the breaker it was on didn't trip. I suspect the right side circuit went about the same time but didn't have cause to check it at that point.

If I was having that situation, at this point I'd unplug the power cord, and start pulling outlets, looking for a bad, or loose connection on the back. I'm wondering if the power draw caused an arc, and connection was lost on that particular power loop.

As Grumpy said “ check for a loose connection in your breaker panel “

Going into the breaker panel will be the next step after the holiday. I can't believe I didn't think about that myself.

Ask customer service for schematics, could send you my 2017 set if that would help.

As it turns out the problem was one leg of the 50 amp service at the pedestal was dead. It's going to be a rewiring job for the park but the unit is fine thank goodness! I appreciate all the good suggestions! Additional information, the power of pedestal outside had both 50 30 and 20 amp service with no breakers at the pedestal. The meter for this power pedestal was actually across the street next to another unit's. Go figure!

That's good you're back to 100%. And now you've got the schematic for the wiring, too.

Glad to hear it was not you trailers electrical.

Many of those power pedestals have been abused or are aged.

multiple failures

Kitchen , bath and out side are usually on 1 GFCI. Stove vent and light is probably 12 volt fuse. Electronic surge protector would have told you had issue with pedestal . Also carry a 50-30 amp adapter and you could have kept running with limit current. I had extra space in my panel so I split the GFCI and put the out side receipt. separate. Bad pedestal can damage your plug. It happen to me, had to cut the plug off and install one from Lowes.

If you had a 50 amp protector that showed the condition of the park power you would of known right away. Get one full timers especially. That said great on it being a park issue.

Hi looks like your still under factory warranty. So I would contact Jayco and ask them to refer you to an authorized Jayco mobile repair company.. as I live in Orlando Fl area there is a company called RvForce.com that has been out to me in their mobile unit doing a Jayco repair. Also you will have to pay the mobile $79.95 service call out of pocket. So that’s what I would do.. hope this helps

Could be a tripped GFCI. Find the outlet with a button in the middle and push it in.

Have you checked all the GFI's foe those areas? Had the same problem with an earlier Jayco and that's what it was.

Oh Poop. My wife and I just purchased a new 2020 29RKS and it is being stored at the dealership. I think I will request that all systems are turned on and tested before we tow it away in March. It is going to be located permanently at a private camp and up tight to an elevated door level deck so towing back is not feasible. We ordered a 30 amp system as the camp service is only 30 amp. I sure don't want to be, and shouldn't have to be, fixing things on a new unit.
