Has anyone had any issues, connection, with the Furrion back up camera (FOS 43 tasf) and their 2019 f250.

Im no camera expert, but what would tie to the truck? I thought that model was stand alone aside from the power trigger that you pick, either running lights or a back up light power signal to turn it on.

What is yours doing or not doing? If you tied to a back up power wire I would ensure all trailer towing fuses and relays are installed in your truck and not laying in the glove box. If thats done, do you have power at the trailer connector at the rear of the truck when in Rev??

Greg,
Thanks greatly for your reply. I am looking to purchase the unit but I’m gathering info that on Fords 2017 and later models their is reported problems with suppling power to camera, transmission is hit or miss. Furrion now sells a 7 pin adapter for this situation. It’s wide spread in GMC/Chevy later units, spotty in Fords
Thanks for the feedback.

I was not aware....I have one on my 324BHTS and it works perfect with my 2019 (and 2018) F-150's, but the camera is wired from the factory to my running lights and kicks on perfect each time.

Thanks Greg,
My unit is a 2020 JayFlight, pre wired also. I’m hoping it is just plug and use.
Is your camera backup only or backup and observation.
Hope all is well in Flower Mound.
Thanks
CB

The camera should be wired into your trailer and not the tow vehicle.

hankstone,
Thanks for your input. My RV is prewired for the Furrion, I’m hoping it I’ll be a plug and use.

Just remember, the camera will possibly only work when the camper and TV parking lights are on.

Wyldink,
Thanks for the input also. I know when I connect my RV the running lights come on since my TV lights are on. Hope that’s enough power to run camera.

Mine was installed from the factory and works whenever the running lights are on....so I can kick it on during the day with the headlight switch if I want to peek at whats behind me.

Works perfect every time I flip the switch on.

I installed an after market (and furrion knockoff) and yes they are plug and play. Mine is intermittent feedback, but that's what I get for going on the cheap. I heard the Furrion camera is better. I still use it though. Even at 50% working it is worth knowing who is behind you or coming up along side of you. I don't use it really for backing up. More for observation. Turns on with parking/head lights.

F250......

I have 2018 F250, 2018 Jayco 29RLDS. It was prewired for camera. The spare power wire went to the panel for the slide out, awning and tank levels. Cut a hole and installed a switch. Jumped switch to hot wire(12 volts). Cut it on and leave it while driving. Some people jump the camera wire to running lights so when you put your lights on the camera is on. The display monitor is suction cup to the windshield and plugs into 12volt dash outlet. The spare wire at the camera was color coded and taped up, can't remember color. At the camera I had to tap into neg wire for the running lights to complete the circuit.

I had issues with a 2016 F250 Super Duty long bed and our Eagle 322rlok. The issue was distance and about the only way it would work is with the truck doors open.

I was having a little trouble with distance on ours and I put the monitor in the rear window so I have to check the rear view mirror to see it. It actually works pretty well for me, you usually look at your rear view mirror when you are pulling in after passing or backing up.

I have that exact set-up, a 2019 F250 Lariat 6.7L P/S with a Fusion back-up camera on a 2020 Pinnacle. The camera was factory installed. I plug the monitor into the power outlet on the dash and as long as the truck lights are on, the camera works fine. Just have to get used to the fact that everything is reversed.

I recently installed a Tadi Bros camera on my prewired Jayco 248rsbw.
As long as the trailer plug is connected to a vehicle the camera should have power when the parking or head lights are on.

On our monitor you can reverse the image and make it look correct.

Running lights

I have a 2010 F250 that I pull my Seismic with. I bought and installed the camera and it was intermittent. I found out that the truck lights have to be on for it to work. That’s where it gets its power from (more specifically that’s what activates the camera to turn on). Just turn your truck running lights on when you’re connected to the RV, and the camera should function.
