2021 eagle ht 312bhok

Just ordered this one, coming from Crossroads 28bh grand reserve and excited about extra room and upgrades. Anyone have experience with this model?

I am familiar with it, as I am looking at an Eagle HT travel trailer for my next trailer, whenever that may be. The 312 is a really great floor plan for those with kids or needing a separated guest room.

This trailer is monstrous and will limit the owner to specific sites and campgrounds. At 39' long, plus hitch length, plus tow vehicle, it is easily a 60+ foot total length rig. Hitch weight will be 1400lbs+ ready to camp. This is marketed as a half ton towable trailer, and it is absolutely not.

I love most things about this model with the exception of the slide on the door side (takes up lots of under awning space), and the single entrance door. I feel like a model this long should have 2. Also with the slides in, several things/places are inaccessible, so this really is a slides out kind of trailer.

This is the perfect model for a seasonal spot or an extended stay kind of use. If you plan on towing it around, be very aware of where you are going with it (so you don't get literally backed into a corner), get the best hitch you can buy and set it up right, and have a tow vehicle that's capable of controlling a unit of this proportion.

Will be towing with 2020 F250 powerstoke. Most likely going to get a propride 3p hitch just due to the overall length of this beast and need for the best sway control. We plan on a southwestern Colorado two week trip next summer as well as various spots in Texas before hand to get all the kinks worked out. We upgraded due to kids getting to the age where it’s nice for them to have a separate area. Thanks for the reply

Sounds like you will be nicely set up. Enjoy that trailer, it's sure a nice one.

Did you get the 50amp and dual AC?

We got a 334 rlok. 1450 tongue weight. The dealer put an equalizer 14000 pound hitch on it when we picked it up.

To small. I got the equalizer 16000 once I got home. It is a lot beefier.

Selling the 14000 on craigslist. Used one time for 200 miles. Lesson learned on trusting dealer.

We have 2017 324bhts. Similar trailer weight and length. We use an equalizer 14k. It works pretty well. Probably could use more weight dist. but works. We tow with a 2017 F250 CCLB with 6.2l with camper pkg. Handles and pulls well. You should be fine with your setup. I hope to switch to the 284bhok. I like ours but tire of having to put slides out to gain access to anything. It has 50amp and 2 ac. Should sell quickly for the dealer if i can make a deal.

Definitely a nice looking family "beast", with some weight to back it up

At one RV dealer's lot a 2021 312BHOK has a yellow sticker with an "as-shipped" UVW of 10,237lbs.. With a 11,300lb GVWR that leaves 1,063lbs cargo capacity that a family could eat up fast.

At 11,300lbs = 1,469lb to 1,695lb (13% to 15%) loaded tongue weight range.

Ours optioned out I have no idea on as shipped weight. I options for gen prep, king bed, auto leveling, and 12v fridge. Do y’all think I would be ok with equalizer 4point 16k or should I go with the pro pride. Quite a difference in price as y’all know but sure don’t want to fight this thing going down the road. That’s not fun for anyone. Any other wd hitches y’all think would be better let me know, I’m all ears.

I got my 16000 equalizer hitch and put on. It is one heavy hitch. It will add over a hundred pounds to tongue weight. I did put firestone air bags on our ram 2019 ram 2500 megacab as well. Got hitch from equalizer for 779. They have 10 percent off. No tax and free delivery.

It tows great and I sit level with only 20 pounds in the bags. Very little bounce even going across rough bridges.

We just got a 2020 312 BHOK in March and have done 7 trips so far with the equalizer 140000 lb hitch with no issues. Trailer tows great with very little bounce or sway (unless you get a decent headwind, but even that was not bad) pulling with a 2013 2500 SRW Duramax. Pulled like a dream to Maine (6 hours for us).

Love the layout, have had some issues with the passenger slide upper bulb seal leaking. Fixed with slide adjustment but put toppers on all three slides for good measure. Also find that I get residual water in the drain line which I feel like is a low spot in the dump line someplace but fixed with a twist on dump valve to get rid of the unpleasant “surprise” when I take the cap off.

Can you access the fridge with the slides closed?

No you cannot access with kitchen slide closed. We actually sold ours. New owner picks it up tomorrow. We decided to take a break for a few years and let the popularity cool down and see what happens with kids activities and such.

Not sure that the popularity will slow down. It has increased for years. Seems like you have to make reservations a year in advance and that’s been going on for years.

Sway

Hi all, I have a 2020 Jayco eagle HT 312BHOK
I have two questions, I was given the heavy duty sway weight distribution bars for towing, however I fee a lot of sway on the highway, it’s nearly 40’ so I get a tow behind will have some sway, just like to reduce as much as possible,

Also once set up , the camper seams to have a lot of bounce with the stock jacks, I was planning on upgrading to the ground TT self leveling jacks, will this help with the bounce in the coach while parked

Great camper but those are two flaws I would like to correct if I can, any advice is much appreciated

Thanks, I’m towing with a 2020 350 lariat 6.7

What kind of weight distribution hitch do you have? There are major differences in weight distribution hitches.

You may want to look at the Equal-i-zer brand hitches,or something with built in sway control. I'm not sure what an R8 is, but I can tell you that a good quality hitch is the difference between an enjoyable drive and a stressful drive.

I have the similar floor plan in the Whitehawk line. I believe mine is lighter. I tow mine with a 3/4 ton diesel and have the 10k equalizer hitch. I have not towed in heavy winds but I have no sway what so ever.

Hello, we are picking up our 312bhok in a few weeks and we will have the exact same setup as you. Towing with a f250 diesel 6.5 box and a propride hitch. I would love to know how the towing and parking of this very long trailer has been for you, and your overall feelings of the trailer. We are coming from a much shorter and lighter 30 foot trailer.
